Gypsy Horse Donation Program
Currently we are utilizing specialized therapeutic-suitable Gypsy horses that are owned and leased to us by private owners. We are open for Gypsy horse donation's in which one can donate their Gypsy horse to Gypsy Magic Equine outreach for placement in one or more of our programs. All Gypsy horse donations are tax deductible for the owner/donor.
Much of what we do is unmounted so horse that can no longer be ridden or requires light riding are considered. Donated Gypsy horses will be evaluated on a case by case basis. Horses accepted in the program must be a suitable fit it's intended use, both mentally and physically. If the horse is not a suitable fit for the therapeutic program, it may qualify for the Gypsy Magic rescue, rehabilitate and re-home program.

- We consider horses of all ages
- We do not use Stallions in our program so all stallions are required to be gelded
- Well-schooled horses of any discipline, are preferred for our therapeutic program but we also consider horses not able to be ridden. The horses manners on the ground during grooming, tacking and leading are greatly valued for therapeutic placement.
- Mild mannered horses are preferred for therapeutic use, but unique personalities may be considered for the equine assisted learning and/or psychotherapy programs
- Horses will be pre-evaluated in person or through a detailed sight un-seen process for out of State horses. Final placement acceptance of the horse will be based on board review and vote.
- Donors will receive a first right of refusal contract. If the horse that was donated is unable to continue as a therapy horse, the original donor will have first right of refusal, and may have the horse back under their ownership. If the donor is not able to take the horse back, then Gypsy Magic looks for a permanent retirement home for the horse. Ideal qualified retirement homes are with someone who has some pasture, someone in need of a companion horse, or someone in need of a wonderful horse that they would like to spend time grooming and fussing over.
- All horses are on a health care program that addresses their monthly farrier care and annual and monthly veterinary care, including teeth, inoculations, vaccinations, de-worming and veterinary workups, as needed.
